TLV320AIC3204: How to route the IN1_L signal to LOL

Part Number: TLV320AIC3204

Hai,

I am using a TLV320AIC3204EVM-k. I have connected a 1KHz, 0.1Vpp, sine signal at IN1_L i.e at 1st pin of J2 wrt 2nd pin ofJ2  on EVM board. Now I want to see the signal at LOL i.e at  1st pin of J6 wrt 2nd pin of J6  on EVM board. All the jumpers on the board are on default state as per the EVM reference guide. I have installed the setup file in the PC and connected the board. Now how can I use the internal features of CODEC to get the output. How to configure the codec to get the live output.

Also I want to understand how to configure the codec to get the onboard MIC signal to LOL.

Regards
Venkat

  • Hi, Venkat,

You can use the GUI to configure the codec in the described operation modes. I would recommend you to look at the Typical configuration scripts, load one of them to the EVM and then modify the input and output routing accordingly to your application. The inputs can be directly conected to the line outputs through the Mixer Amplifiers MAL/MAR.

I can provide a capture of the GUI configurations, but please give me a couple of days so I can test with my EVM after Holidays.

  • Hi Diego,
Please help to provide GUI configurations as suggested.
  • Prahlad,

As I mentioned, you can start by programming the device with one of the typical configuration scripts. For this particular use-case, I recommend to program the device first with the High Performance Stereo Recording script, as it configures the codec to capture audio from IN1.  Please go to Typical Configurations > Recording > Audio Recording and click Load:

Then, you need to configure the Analog Bypass mixer amplifier (MAL) and line output drivers to playback the IN1 content. For this, Go to Audio Outputs > Output routing and check the MAL/MAR boxes connected to the Line output drivers:

Then, on the same Audio Outputs window, select the DAC/Line Outputs tab, where you need to power-up and unmute the Line Outputs:

Finally, go to the Analog Bypass tab and turn-on the Mixer Amplifier:

For the mic question, you can follow same steps, but use the Differential On-Board Microphone configuration instead of the High Performance Stereo Recording script.
