TAS5548: TAS5548 MCLK to PCM1862, How do to increase PCM1862 sample rate up to 48K ?

Hi Team,

My customer design a product useing PCM1862+TAS5548+TAS5631B, The block diagram attached as below.

There are some questions need to verify.

1) TAS5548 only support 12.288 MHz crystal, can it support 24.576 MHz?

2) When TAS5548 connect 12.288 MHz crystal, Can MCLK get 24.576 MHz ? and then it send to PCM1862 ? So that PCM1862 can support 48K SR. Now it can only support 32K .

3) Can TAS5548 and PCM1862 connect different external crystal at the same time ? when we do this, PCM1862 audio input, but there is no audio output at TAS5631B .

4) if all above are wrong, how we can do to improve PCM1862 SR ?

Hi Aggil,

1) The TAS5548 doesn't support a 24.576MHz crystal.

2) MCLK can get up to 50MHz. More details can be found on page 26 of the datasheet.

3-4) The delta sigma group should be able to answer these questions better.

thanks for your response, Another question, Pin 33 of TAS5548 can generate 24.576MHz clock for other ADC ?

Hi Aggil,

Yes that can be used to generate a clock for another device. The datasheet actually goes into detail on how to use pin 33 to power TAS3108.
