TPA3128D2: Architecture of Hybrid Mode(Low idle current Mode) for TPA3128D2.

Part Number: TPA3128D2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5825M

Dear Sirs,

I have a question.

I confirmed the data sheet for the low idle loss mode architecture of TPA3128D2 but I could not found it.
So I checked AppNote's SLOA328A, but there was a description of "Hybrid Mode".
I thought Low Idle loss Mode and Hybrid Mode are the same.
So I checked the architecture on Hybrid Mode.
I could not find it.
So please let me know these following questions.

1. Is Low Idle loss Mode and Hybrid Mode the same?
2. If Low Idle loss mode and Hybrid Mode are the same, please let me know the architecture.

Best Regards,

Y.Hasebe

  • Dear Sir,

You are correct. The Hybrid Mode is the same as d/s Low Idle loss mode.

As for the detailed architecture, it's still under IP protection. Generally speaking, TPA3128 dynamically changes PWM common duty cycle based on output signal level.

    Rdgs,

    Matthew

  • Hello Matthew-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that the Hybrid Mode is the same as d/s Low Idle loss mode.

I checked again whether there is no other data on the hybrid mode.
    And I found SLAA846: TAS5825M Advanced Features.
Please let me know whether HybridMode of AppNote of TAS5825M is the same as that of TPA3128D2.

  • Hi Hasebe-san,

sloa238a already shows both quiescent and dynamic performance of TPA3128D2 ultra-low current mode.

Regarding the difference between TAS5825M Hybrid mode and TPA3128D2 ultra-low current mode, TAS5825M is using digital processing and TPA3128D2 for analog processing.

Just want to check which customer at your side. We can use email communication for more technical details.

    Rdgs,

    Matthew

  • Hello Matthew-san,

    Thank you for you reply.

sloa238a already shows both quiescent and dynamic performance of TPA3128D2 ultra-low current mode.

    ⇒I already knew sloa238a.
Therefore I want to know the mechanism of both quiescent and dynamic performance.

Regarding the difference between TAS5825M Hybrid mode and TPA3128D2 ultra-low current mode, TAS5825M is using digital processing and TPA3128D2 for analog processing.

⇒ Thank you for your information.
I thought that might be the case.
So I want to know how TPA3128D 2 is making this mode.

Just want to check which customer at your side. We can use email communication for more technical details.

⇒I want to use email communication.
Please let me know how to use email communication.
