TLV320DAC3101: EQ Sequence

Part Number: TLV320DAC3101

Hi, Team,

A customer set the EQ in the following sequence, Some EQ setting registers may not be rewritten. Is there a problem with the below EQ setting sequence? Is it also necessary to wait until EQ setting is completed?

① DAC mute
②DAC termination
③ EQ register rewriting (page 8)
④DAC activation
⑤ wait ≧ 20 ms
⑥DAC mute cancellation

Best Regards,
Satoshi Yone

  • Yone-san,

The settings sequence that you mentioned is alright. These are the correct steps to modify the DAC EQ coefficients.

This sequence is shown in an example flow in the datasheet:

Please notice that the delay time depends of the sampling rate, (25ms if fs = 32KHz and 20ms if fs = 48KHz).

In addition, if customer is configuring the EQ filter coefficients when the device is powered up or reset, he must consider to wait at least 100us before writing the coefficients. Please take a look at the paragraph below for more details.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
