the SRC4392 is described as pin-compatible to SRC4382.

Does this guarantee full functionality when replacing SRC4382 with 4392 in an existing commercial DSP platform?

Welcome to e2e Forum.

Yes the SRC4392 is p2p compatible to SRC4382 and should be fully compatible w the SRC4382 functionality except for the better dynamic range.
This also includes the same register map for both devices.
