TLV320AIC3204: Codec IC Amplitude generation

Hello,

I am using the C5535 DSP kit(www.ti.com/.../TMDX5535EZDSP) containing TLV320AIC3204. I just wanted to know if TLV320AIC3204 can be used to generate a sine wave with amplitude level from -10 to 100 dB. If so, then can you suggest me any method to generate the same?

Aditya,

The TLV320AIC3204 has a built in beep generator, This beep generator can be used to create a sine wave that is 0dB (full-scale DAC output) down to -63dB.

I was looking at the dsplib library which can be used to generate sine wave with specific frequency. Is there any way to generate sine wave with the amplitude ranging from -10 to 100db using dsplib package?

Hi Aditya Chandra,

Please take a look at the sine function description in TMS320C55x DSP Library Programmer’s Reference at:
www.ti.com/.../spru422j.pdf
The example will help you to generate a sine wave. The you should scale the results to get the desired amplitude.
