TPA2006D1: Output Impedance in /Shutdown

Part Number: TPA2006D1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2557, TAS2560, TAS2552

Dear, Sir.

I would like to make sure following fundermental matters about TPA2006D1.

Please give your advice.

1. Output impedance in /SD.

> 1kOHM is defined on the datasheet. Does it mean the impedance between VO+

and VO-?

2. Current flow from VDD to GND.

I(SD) is defined on the datasheet. Does it include the current flow VDD to GND  on

the above power stage?

Best Regards,

H. Sakai

  • Hi Sakai-san,

Output impedance would be from each output to GND.
Shutdown current is the total current consumption of the device on shutdown mode.

  • Dear, Ivan-san.

Thank you so much for your teaching.

Output impedance > 1kOHM is defined on typical value.

Is there a possibility that the impedance become lower than 1kOHM?

Sorry to ask you about this kind of matter. Please give your advice.

    Best Regards,

    H. Sakai

  • Sakai-san,

If your question is if the output impedance can be manipulated to decrease it, it is not possible as this is how device is was designed.
If your concern is that as this is a typical value, there could be a variation to higher or lower impedances it is most likely that variation is to higher impedances, as the spec suggest impedances higher than 1kOhm.

  • Dear, Ivan-san.

Thank you so much for your advice.

My customer is considering to realize the speaker discconnect detection function,

so higher impedance as well is suitable. A/B or D-class are OK.

Can you find out the higher output impedance product such as several 10kOHM product?

Your advice will be quite helpful for me.

    Bewst Regards,

    H. Sakai

  • Sakai-san,

Unfortunately I think that most of our devices have similar output impedances during shutdown.
If digital input is an option, there are some devices like TAS2552 and TAS2560 that have 10kohm output impedance during shutdown. If you consider digital input there are smart-amps like TAS2557 which are similar to TAS2560 but with embedded signal processing.
