Linux/TLV320AIC3104: Mono Speaker output?

you can get a mono line output from the AIC3104. there are only two line outs, so if you need stereo line outs AND a mono out, you may need to consider the aic3106.

Ok. There are a couple ways of doing this, but perhaps the easiest way would be to set register 7 D3-D4 to '11'. This means that the left DAC channel is automatically a mono mix of the left and right data received on the I2S bus.

after that (and setting up your clocks for your application) you can follow the below steps to get an output on the LEFT_LOP/M output

# power up left DAC
w 30 25 80

# unmute left DAC
w 30 2b 00

# route DAC_L1 path to Left_LOP/M Out
w 30 52 80

# power up Left_LOP/M OUT
w 30 56 09

if you are connecting this output to a Class-D amplifier or if out of band noise is otherwise a concern we definitely recommend using a passive LPF on the output.
