Would your please advise the root cause of the TAS2557 GUI's Unknown Device IO Failure error message and how to solve it? My customer keeps encounting this problem in System Integration page.

Hi, Wayne,

Do you have more details about this error message?

- Does this issue appear 100% of times?
- Is the connected EVM or device being disconnected or unrecognized while the binary files are dumped?
- Which device is being used and how it is configured (jumpers, power supplies, clocks, etc)?

Hello Luis,

Thanks a lot. This is 100% reproducible with customer's PPC3 GUI without TAS2557 EVM attached. Typically, we can dump CFG and BIN without an EVM attached.

Hi, Wayne,

The problem seems to be related with a device or EVM issue. PPC3 searches for an I2C address in order to dump the binary files data. Since the I2C address is not detected, it indicates the stated error.

Could customer try connecting an EVM? Or another device with the indicated I2C address (0x98)?

Hello Luis,

Customer keeps encountering the problem with and without EVM attached, while we can dump BIN with and withut EVM attached on another computers with no such problem. Customer is trying to reinstall the PPC3 GUI and will send test result.

Hello, Wayne,

We are not capable to reproduce this issue from our side. However, if during the PPC3 and EVM driver installation procedure there is a file omission, there's risk to have this kind of issues. Please let me know if customer is capable to solve this issue after the software re-installation.
