TPA3255: Multiple 3255's with RESET connected to all 3

Part Number: TPA3255

Dear Forum

since finally digging myself and the project out of the quicksand and seeing the 3255 'work' as it should (thus far).. I am now looking at

putting it together in a project that will use 3 x 3255s for Amplification  (Left, Right and Foldback) for use in public performances.

CAN I  connect all the RESET lines together and then to a master 'reset supervisor' ?  My thinking is that they are wire OR-ed  being active Lo so any one

can trigger a reset of the whole system.

Does this seem a bit strange or ?  How should I approach this?  Should I use 3 separate reset supervisors?

Thanks

Julian

  • Hi Julian,

Actually tying all of the Reset pins to one master reset supervisor is a good idea if you only intend to have all of the devices on at the same time or off. I'm not sure how you are implementing the wired-OR into the system. Can you please give some more details on it?

For debug purposes it might be helpful to allow you to be able to debug one device at a time by having an option to shut down the other devices.

    Best Regards,
