TAS2557: Factory Test and Calibration tool in TAS2557 in stereo application

Part Number: TAS2557

customer is asking the Factory Test and Calibration tool in TAS2557  in stereo application.

i found the apps note talking about it but it was used in mono application. Do we have the tool supporting TAS2557 in stereo?

the previous tools TI supporting are "ti_audio" and "ti_factorytest"(for ping and calibration testing

  • Peter,

There is a driver for dual-mono (stereo) in the GIT repository: git.ti.com/.../master
    You can look for tas2557dm_ftc.c

  • Hi Ivan,

here are the factory testing results based on the tool.

    some questions for you:

    1) I found the "DevB Re = 0.00 Ohm" and " DevA Re = 5.89 Ohm". in dual TAS2557 in stereo, looks it does not able to get two Re value (DevA and DevB) by executing factorytest once. Can you check it ?
    2) the Calibration results, the results are all "0", Can we check the factory test results again?

============================== factory testing tool results in 2x TAS2557 in stereo application

** Test Result (EP2DUALMONO0430_TAS2557.ftcfg and EP2DUALMONO0430_TAS2557-B.ftcfg are provided by Daniel Chung) **
    1. Calibration with EP2DUALMONO0430_TAS2557.ftcfg (Only DevA gets Re value)
    PGID=0xa0
    TAS2557 mixer command TERT_MI2S_RX Audio Mixer MultiMedia1 = 1.
Playing sample: 1 ch, 48000 hz, 16 bit
    factorytest: Started playback of /vendor/etc/silence_48k-samplerate.wav
    dev_a Re=5.886873, dev_b Re=0.000000
    factorytest: Stop playback.
    TAS2557 calibration values:
    DevA Re = 5.89 Ohm
    DevA rms_pow = 0x00000000
    DevA t_limit = 0x00000000
    DevB Re = 0.00 Ohm
    DevB rms_pow = 0x00000000
    DevB t_limit = 0x00000000
SPK A Calibration fail : Re is too low (limit: 6.50).
SPK B Calibration fail : Re is too low (limit: 6.30).
    TAS2557 mixer command TERT_MI2S_RX Audio Mixer MultiMedia1 = 0.

    2. Calibration with EP2DUALMONO0430_TAS2557-B.ftcfg (Both of DevA and DevB are 0)
    PGID=0xa0
    TAS2557 mixer command TERT_MI2S_RX Audio Mixer MultiMedia1 = 1.
Playing sample: 1 ch, 48000 hz, 16 bit

  • Hi Peter,

This tool should be working fine, as other customer have used before without problems. Let me check what could cause zero values.
Can you provide the ftcfg you used to run the tool?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Ivan,

customer reported, there is only left channel(0x98) has sound and no sound in right channel(0x9a) and the calibration value are "0"

I am attaching you the ftcfg customer using and the latest stereo factory testing tool customer using for you review.
