TAS5760M: Question of thermal parameter

datasheet page 8 have θJC(bottom)Junction-to-case (bottom) thermal resistance value, after you get case temp and you can calculate Tj temp.

what is meaning of Tc?

Hello,

we have OT protection feature . when Tj=150C, it will trigger Over temperature protection. Tcase temp you can measure by thermal meter.

Yes, TAS5760M OT protection temp is 150C. it means when junction temp more than 150C, it will trigger OT protection.

you may need to use θJC(top) Junction-to-case (top) thermal resistance to calculate junction temp for your case. Can I know which condition you can get power dissipation 12W? efficiency should not so bad, look at datasheet page 20 efficiency curve.

by the way, did you case temp=90C, device OC triggered or not?

Tj = Tc + P(power dissipation)* θJC(top) . So your caculation is correct. (12W*0.15 as power dissipation)
