TPA6130A2: output volume limitation after connection of headset

Hi Audio Team,

when connecting a Headset or headphone to a device the output volume needs to be limited to a certain levevel by regularities. Before increasing the output volume a notification is need - this functionality e.g. you find in mobiles etc.

When using TPA6130 is this functionality implement in the amplifier or what are proposals to implement this functionality in a application ?

    Hi Olrik,

    This is not implemented in TPA6130A2. Perhaps the functionality you described can be implemented in a previous stage of the signal path, like a codec that has some signal processing capabilities eg. a limiter that can notify when the signal is being limited and provide feedback to the controller in order to let the user know that the limit has been reached.
    Data Converters team might have a better approach on the codec features.
