TAS5751M: Tuning parameter

Part Number: TAS5751M

Hello, our customer is optimizing TAS5751M parameters, some questions are popping up in our mind now.

1. On the datasheet signal flow chart shows, Pre-scale and Post-scale is in Master volume block.
Generally Pre-scaling is used for increasing headroom, it should be located front end of EQ processing block.
Where is actual location of TAS5751M Pre-scale in the signal flow?

2. Do you have document of "How to optimize Softening parameter" ?
What is difference between this and Attack time parameter?

Regards,
Mochizuki

  • Both the pre scale and post scale are located in the Master Volume block, as the process flow shows. They can be used together to achieve digitally the specified THD levels without voltage clipping. This allows users to achieve the same THD (for example, 10% THD) for different power levels (15 W/10 W/5W) with same PVCC level.

Also, take a look at the document below.

  • Andy-san,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Yes, we can create clipping point before H-bridge voltage clipping by using pre/post scaling.

We hope to find the document which describe this purpose on the datasheet or EVM user guide.
