We are using the TPA3255EVM in AM2, Master Mode, PBTL configuration.
We are using this to transmit short pulses, i.e. turn PA on, transmit short pulse, turn PA off until next time.
We operate it like this:
-
With RESET = LOW, and analog input signal at "zero volts", we apply 48VDC (PVDD).
-
When 48VDC is good, we set RESET = HIGH.
-
After waiting 500 ms (???) for the tPresharge and tStartup times to be satisfied, we transmit a short 5.21 ms burst of 43 kHz. I am not sure exactly how long tStartup is ?
-
After the pulse is transmitted, we immediately set RESET back = LOW, and turn off the 48VDC (PVDD).
- What happens to the output of the TPA3255EVM in PBTL Mode just before and after the pulse is transmitted ?
- I guess to be clearer, what happens to the output of the TPA3255EVM in PBTL Mode with zero voltage input signal ? What kind of output would we expect ? Will there be any glitches or transient due to the output switching ?
- We are trying to operate this in the cleanest manner possible, making sure that we power up and down cleanly without causing any spurious outputs.
- Is this the best way to use the TPA3255 in this manner ?
