TAS5711: 70W to 90W smart speaker architecture review

Part Number: TAS5711
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5805M, , TAS5805

Dear colleagues,

I am working on a smart speaker project with this main requirement:

  • 2.1 audio system - 4Ohms speaker - 2*20W+ 30W up to 2*25W + 40W / or any combination that doesnt exceed 90W in total and that remains compliant with amplifier output drive.
  • Battery inside - so far the architecture is wrapped around 3S2P li-ion battery
  • USB-PD
  • Wireless phone charger in option

Current version of the power supply architecture is the following:

Any thought on it ? Recommandation ?

In the amplifier datasheet (TAS5711 / TAS5805M) we see that they are wide input voltage. Theoretically they can stand the swing from 20V (USB-PD wall charger) to 9V (battery discharged) so is it OK to power the amp directly connected to VSYS ? Will it be able to drive the same output power in both case ? (i think not but i prefer to ask).

About the amp, during market analysis i found the TAS5711 used in quite a good product, but it is getting old (almost 10 years). TAS5805M is more recent with similar spec.

Which amplifier would you recommend for this project ?

Feel free to add any suggestions and advices !

Thanks & regards,

Samir
