TLV320AIC34: Overflow Flag

Part Number: TLV320AIC34

Hello Team,

My customer is having issues with a voltage that is only slightly high causing the overflow flag bit to set. They run a health test by polling this and verifying if it has been set. The audio quality seems  fine while recording the voltage, but our customer has issues with the flag. Do you have any recommendations on good register to validate the health of chip as a part of a functional test?

Thanks you for your support!

Errol

  • Hello Errol,

The input pins can be pushed beyond the full-scale input voltage before damage,  see the ABSMax in the datasheet.

The flag gets reset after the register is read.  If the voltage is only slightly high,  then reduce the gain slightly, until it doesn't happen anymore.

    best regards,
