TAS2557: Change the clock source by I2C write directly

Part Number: TAS2557

Hi Team,

We want change the clock source from MCLK to BCLK.

But as we change book00/page01/address74 from 0Dh to 00h, the sound become noisy and quality bad.

Any other register need modified to resolve the noisy? Or If our procedure is wrong?

Test procedure:

1. Use TAS2557 EVM, and open a new mono project on PPC3.

2. System check OK

3. Open I2C monitor and use Log tab start recording.

4. Choose Tuning and Audio Processing---play music, sounds great.

5. Save the I2C log then add "w 98 74 00" below the "w 98 73 0f" command.

6. Stop music, and use I2C monitor I/O tab execute new file which add "w 98 74 00"

7. Then play the same music, sounds become noisy and quality bad.

Thanks

  • Hi Daniel,

There are several settings that must be changed if a different clock source/frequency is used. We recommend to use PPC3 End System Integration panel to generate the configuration files.
What are your system requirements? BCLK, WCLK and MCLK (if used) frequencies, as well as sample rate?
