OPA1632: Single power supplies

Part Number: OPA1632

Dear all

The OPA1632 device can support single power supplies, and in the datasheet of OPA1632, it said THD + Noise characteristics at section 6.6 Typical Characteristics, but it based on the VS = ±15 V dual power supplies, Could you tell me the THD + Noise at single power supplies is same to dual power supplies ? Is there test data ?

  • Hi,

The THD+ Noise data should be the same for single and split power supplies. However, in practical applications there is often more noise on a ground plane in a board than on a dedicated negative power supply and that can cause some loss in performance. Therefore it is important to always make sure you are not coupling any additional noise into the part from the ground.

    Regards,

  • Dear Jacob

            Thank you!

But I have other question,as below picture from OPA1632 datasheet, I want to know there is need capacitance before R1 and R2 ?

  • Hi,

You do not need capacitors before R1 and R2, but you will need to make sure the amplifier is biased properly if you are connecting a DC coupled input signal. What is the common-mode of your input signal?
