TLV320AIC3254: how to realize the environment noise reduction function

Part Number: TLV320AIC3254

Hi team,

I have some question on use tlv320aic3254.

1、Can the ENC BLOCK of tlv320aic3254 achieve the sound pickup effect of 5m after it is opened?

2、 We are going to use the dual-mic. In order to achieve good environmental noise reduction effect, what are the requirements of this dual-mic?Any recommendations on it?

3、To realize the environment noise reduction function, Would you pls give some code example or some recommendation?

Thanks.

  • Sara,

I misread your last post.  ENC is an Environmental noise compensation algorithm,  not really a noise reduction function. ie the codec senses the environmental noise and adjusts the DAC output accordingly.

There is a filter based Noise reduction under TI algorithms,  but it isn't an adaptive algorithm.  There used to be an active noise canceling algorithm,  but it was removed due to the high support required.

At this time we are able to support the active noise cancelling for high volume customers only.

  • hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. if tlv320aic3254 is not easy to realize ENC, would you promote other P/N or give me other recommendation ?and reach to  how high volume Ti can support it?

  • Sara,

The TLV320AIC3254 does support ENC,  which I've mentioned before.  But ANC is another thing entirely.

TI will consider custom engagements with the miniDSP processing on a case by case basis,  but to give some reference past projects were in the 500ku- 8000ku range.

  • Hi Steve Wilson,

    Gotta it. Thanks a lot.
