Linux: alsamixer not working:Remote I/O Error

Hi,

We are using TLVaic3204 TI audio codec and enabled the codec driver in linux kernel. Added codec  device node in device tree.But on target alsamixer not working:

Running into below error:

Cannot load mixer controls:Remote I/O error.

Can you please guide me what could be the issue.
