TAS5825M: Coil Selection

Hello,

are there any experiences with alternative coils for the TAS5825M?
Currently we are using Murata 1274AS-H-100M=P3 as indicated in the data sheet.
However, we would like to use smaller coils (possibly with less power).

Hi Simon,

Take a look at Section 10.1.1 Inductor Selection of TAS5825M datasheet. It is possible to use smaller inductors (for example 4.7uF) if a lower PVDD voltage or higher switching frequency is used. To achieve lower idle current, large inductors like 10uH are recommended.

Also, take a look at the following app note, which explains how to select inductors and capacitors for the LC filter.
