TAS2555YZEVM: PPC3: Loading I2C Parameters & Initialization in 'Tuning Mode' gets stuck -> Restart PPC3

Part Number: TAS2555YZEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2555

Hello, all together in this forum,

we got a Problem with the TAS2555YZEVM and PPC3 V3.1.4:
Initialization of the TAS2555 in ROM Mode 1 or ROM Mode 2 works fine, but when initalizing it in Tuning Mode, PPC3 gets stuck.
First, PPC3 is sending a huge mass of register content through the I2C.

After ~1minute PPC3 seems to have finished the I2C stuff and then gets stuck in the 'Updating Components' stage of the process:

What can i do to fix this problem. Anyone else concerned with this? Any experiences?
Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards

Andreas Paulin

  • Update: I found this thread

    e2e.ti.com/.../687280

dealing with the issue. Thanks to Matsumoto-San's findings i reinstalled the PPC3.

But after downloading it gets stuck with this message:

How shall i deal with this issue? Apparently it's not a download problem, but how to handle the 'Component File Version doesn't match' - error?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Andreas Paulin

  • Hi Andreas,

Can you provide an email address so I can contact you offline? Or you can also send me a message to: ivan.salazar@ti.com

Our SW team is currently working to fix this error during PPC3 installation, in the meantime:

    • We can provide a previous version of the installer
    • Or you can download and install Matlab Compiler Runtime separately, if it is already installed you can check if it is configured correctly following the attached slides

  • Hello, Ivan,

thank you for your fast reply. I will try to manually install the MatLab runtime compiler. And use your
slides to fix the env. vars. if needed.
    Besides, my email address is
    a.paulin@csslabs.de.
So you can send me the previous version of the installer in case it doesn't work.

I'll keep you informed how things run..

    Kind regards

  • Hello again, Ivan,

i tried to install the MCR, but now i get this error during installation:
"The installer could not start the JVM.
    Could not find file C:\Users\Paulin\sys\java\jre\win64\jre/bin/server/jvm.dll.

    Any idea?

    Kind regards
