TAS5630 AD or BD modulation

Hi Guys,

Could someone summarize what the advantages and disadvantages of AD vs BD modulation are.
Would the TAS5630 overall performance (Noise, THD, efficiency, etc…) be better for one type of modulation and worst for the other one?

    Hi, Tomasz,

    In general, BD offers better audio performance (and efficiency), but at the expense of slightly worse EMC.

    Hi Don,

    So, thinking just about audio quality I should go then for BD modulation. Do you have any measurements showing the audio quality difference like THD or something?
    My current amp works in AD modulation. Maybe I should make once exact audio measurements and try to modify and run this same board in BD and compare ... I will try.

    The second issue is surely the EMC. You wrote the EMC performance is slightly worst - what do you mean slightly?
    Do you thing developing commercial products I can steel easily go for BD modulation and do not expect problems with CE certification?
