TAS3251EVM: Some stereo 2.0 modes hang during board config

Hi,

  today I installed a brand new TAS53251EVM and PPC3 as described in the manual. System works fine in Stereo 2.0 Standard Processing (2.0 96K) mode, I can change
filters etc. However when I switch to any other Stereo modes the EVM config is started, music stops, but the process hangs in the 'Writing coefficient to device' phase, see below. 
From there I can only kill PPC3 via Windows.

Weird thing is that the same happens if I disconnect USB cable. 2.0 96k mode goes through without any error msg, other modes hangs at the same point.

I run Win10 Pro 1903 last refresh. System sees a TI USB Audio UAC1.0 driver, v4.59.0 installed by PPC3. I run the music via TOSLINK. Board was purchased from Mouser
last week, LOT: 3409597WBG

How can I get this board working in the other modes ?

    Hi Endre,

    Did you configure the hardware to the appropriate settings when choosing a different configuration outside of Stereo mode?

    Hi Robert,

      no, I stayed with stereo 2.0 modes only.  I wanted to go to Stereo Standard Processing (2.0 48k) to try extra DSP features. 
    What hw config changes shall I do for this? I expected it is only purte sw/DSP change.

    Hi Endre,

    I'm sorry I misread your initial comment! Have you tried running the GUI without your computer connected to the TAS3251EVM? That could give some insight on pinpointing where this issue is occurring.

    Hi Robert,

      as I wrote, I can run the GUI without connecting EVM. It shows that TAS3251 is offline, but I can work with Std processing mode 2.0 96k without any issue. But switching for 2.0 48 kHz hangs. Same like with EVM connected.

      In the meantime I found this sequence always hangs:

    Start PPC3; Select TAS3251; Select Stereo 2.0+Start;  Select Tuning and Audio Proc; Select 2.0 48k;

     However I found I can enter mode 2.0 48k with the following sequence

    Start PPC3; Select TAS3251; Select Stereo 2.0+Start;  Select Tuning and Audio Proc; Select 2.0 96k; Select TAS3251 Home;
    Select Audio IO; Select Change Process Flow; Select 2.0 48k;

     I can use this method, but I think there might be some bugs in different config sequences. Looks like Select 2.0 48k works only
    if some other mode was already selected.

     In the meantime I also connected JP16 so above sequences were done with UAC2.0 driver.

    Hi Endre,

    That's strange that the GUI is getting stuck even when the device isn't connected. I haven't seen that issue when I ran the program and starting with Standard 2.0 48k. It might be that you just need to reinstall the TAS3251EVM App and see if that corrects it.

    If you're worried about the configurations being different, I've recorded the I2C commands that running Standard 2.0 48k will give you.

    It might be that you just need to reinstall the TAS3251EVM App and see if that corrects the issue.

    Hi,

      above tests were already done with the second installed sw instance, it is always easy to try :)

      Thanks for the TXT it also works fine! Now I can do what I want with the kit, but I suggests to look
    at the above issues before next PPC3 release, problem still exist on my PC.
