PCM9211EVM-U SPDIF input not working reliably

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM9211EVM-U

we obtained two pieces of PCM9211EVM-U as we intend to use the chipset on this EVM to feed audio from exteral SPDIF sources into a PC based high end entertainment product.

We need to be able to receive both PCM audio as well as AC-3/DTS encoded audio over SPDIF, forward it over USB and -in case of AC-3/DTS- decode the audio on our PC platform. input sampling frequencies would have to be 44.1kHz and 48kHz.

We will base on Windows DirectShow components, if additional settings have to be done via separate API we are flexible to do so.

When testing the EVMs we found that both did not work reliably even with PCM input, neither on 44.1kHz nor at 48kHz - we got interrupted audio both using optical and coaxial input.

Please advice if this EVM is able to handle above requirements (bit-accurate digital audio input for PCM and non-PCM data regardless of copybit setting)

Please advice if our problem is known and what can be done to fix it, we downloaded the latest PC application from TI website

thanks and regards,

Christoph
