TPA3112D1: Transformer driving: how to avoid start up problem due to SC protection due to transformer magnetic saturation

Part Number: TPA3112D1

Hi team,

My customer is using TPA3112D1 in a special environment: it is designed to drive a load through a isolation transformer. The signal is 500Hz single tone. The problem is occasionally the PA cannot startup. Since the pin /FAULT is connected to the pin /SD, so the IC may repeatedly trying start up, shout down, and trying again,...We checked the output current in this condition and found, the reason why the PA cannot start up is that during startup there is a very high peaking in output current waveform. I think this current peaking is due to magnetic saturation of transformer core. This problem only occured during startup. It can operate continuously without entering protection mode once starting up correctly. So i think the reason why that result magnetic saturation is the unbalance output during start up. I do not know how to avoid such kind of problem?

Thank you,

John
