TAS3251: 'Traditional' reset pin and more detailed datasheet to including more register page value

Part Number: TAS3251
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3251

Hi,

I got two questions about TAS3251.

  1.  TAS3251 has a 'RESET_AMP' pin but it seems only ramp down the output stage and reset the error message. Is there an 'traditional' hardware reset pin in TAS3251? What I mean 'traditional' is all the register value will be reset as well. In the datasheet page 21 - functional block diagram, we can see a reset pin (looks more like a traditional reset pin) in the bottom left besides the reset_amp# pin in the bottom right.
  2. Is there a more detailed datasheet which includes the register page to 255? The current datasheet only cover register page 0 and 1. However, functions such as fine volume control is located in page 21, and there is no DSP function mentioned in the registers in page 0 & 1 as well.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Joe

  • Hello Joe,

    1. The TAS3251 is based on the TPA3251 but integrated with a digital front end, so there is not another RESET Pin you can use, because the RESET is controlled internally by the digital part of the device. There is only RESET AMP. Sorry for the confusion in the datasheet.
    2. We recommend using the PPC3 and exporting your configuration to modify any registers that we don't provide info in the datasheet. We do not provide the register map for additional process flow/dsp registers outside of the datasheet and our collateral since PPC3 should be used to modify those registers.

    Best Regards,
