TAS5825M: Asking for the design on TAS5825 in phase setting

Part Number: TAS5825M

Hi Team,

Customer is designing TAS5825.

Would you please provide comment for the following questions?

What is the pro and con if enable in phase feature?

BR,

SHH

  • Hi SHH,

Stereo audio system needs to be set as in phase. This option is designed in case OUT+/- terminals of R/L channel are connected in reverse order with each other. Without this register option, you will need to plug out the speaker, change the +/- order and plug in again.

    Regards,

    Hao

  • Hi Hao,

the suggestion for this setting is to resolve the pop noise.

Would you please explain why set in phase case resolve the pop noise?

also, the default value is set to "0" out of phase, right?

    BR,

    SHH

  • Hi Scott,

TAS5825M DC Offset ATE trim is based on 'in phase' setting to implement good performance with BD/1SPW/Hybrid mode, so 'Out of Phase' BD setting has worse DC offset, which cause larger pop noise.

Considering inductor filter with TAS5825M has enough EMI margin, so our PPC3 dump out script already configured as 'in phase' as below. It's suggested to follow our recommendations.

    Regards,

    Matthew
