TLV320AIC3254: How to detect "no audio/silence" in order to put device into sleep?

I have seen already the below post:

Is there a way to detect "silence" and put the device into sleep after sometimes in order to save power?

It seems that the GPIO scheme is not really a good mechanism for this. Are there other options?
Can for example the miniDSP be used to detect that there is no audio?

AnBer,

The MiniDSP can be used to detect audio levels, but once the device was put into sleep mode, it would no longer be able to measure this, and if you put the device in reset, the registers would of course reset, meaning you'd have to reprogram the miniDSP.

the PCM186x has an energy sense feature that would probably be more useful.

Do we have some examples for detecting audio level with the miniDSP?
This is to enhance an existing AIC3254 design.

Do we have any TI design or AIC3254 that showcase example of putting the AIC3254 in sleep mode.

AnBer,

There are no reference designs that showcase putting the AIC3254 in sleep mode. There is an app note called "AIC32x4 Sleep and Standby modes"
