You will need to provide the orderable part# for both cases.

The D788 information is not on public ti.com forums. This device family is typically used for our Dolby DTS enabled portfolio used in AVRs and other audio applications.
There is no support on E2E for this device family.
If you are having issues with purchased devices please use the customer return portal Rex provided in his original post along with copies of the paperwork that they purchased the units from TI directly or a TI approved distributor.
