TPA6130A2: TPA6130 Internal Feedback Resistance

Hi Sirs,

We are collaborating with customer to optimize pop noise of the TPA6130 with I2C. Would you pls advise the internal resistance of input and feedback network as a following of the thread at "https://e2e.ti.com/support/archive/internal/int-audio_amplifiers/f/8/t/330999"?

Does the I2C volume control done on resistor network of input or feedback? We are considering to add external input resistance and adjust DC block capacitance to optimize the frequency response and pop noise.

2.2uF Input cap -> Pop noise but flat frequency response

0.47uF input cap -> Redued pop noise but low band impacted

Hi, Wayne,

The internal input resistance is determined by the selected gain as shown in figure 33. Please notice how the input impedance could go from 40kohm to 100kohm approximately.

Regarding the trade-off between the pop noise and the frequency response, I recommend to take a look at section 9.2.2.5. It describes how the output capacitance and the output load affect the cutoff frequency.
