TPA3116D2: THUD sound or POP noise when MUTE is operated

Can you specify what you mean by when mute is being operated? In what sequence are you operating mute?

Power up-----> SDZ  low to High----->Mute to Unmute------>Play audio?

OR

Unmute-to-mute----> SDZ High to Low----->Power down?

Hello Carolina,

We are not operating in the sequence you have mentioned. On the board, the SDZ pin had been tied to 12V via a 100K resistor. This is as per the schematics followed from the data sheet provided by Ti.

Now if I control the SDZ pin from microcontroller IO pin, the TPA3116D2 seems to be in shut down since it is not able to respond for the 5V IO levels.

Can you describe the circuit for controlling the SDZ pin from uC?

We added the circuit for the SDZ control as was shown in the link:  https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio/f/6/t/833013.

Now we are trying to control the MUTE and SDZ both by using the control from microcontroller.
EVEN THEN, i am getting the "TUCK" sound and my design has been held up.

I have tried all combinations of MUTE and SDZ but still the "TUCK" noise is present which is very annoying.
If i don't have MUTE control, my circuit developed is going to be of waste for my application. Hence kindly provide us the proper solution so that i can eliminate the "TUCK" sound on MUTE operation.

For the sequence do this:

When Enable Amp (SDZ High) -------- Mute Amplifier first, Then SDZ High, Delay >40ms then Unmute Amplifier.
