TPA2000D1: not output issue after startup

Part Number: TPA2000D1

Hi expert,

My customer have an issue about TPA2000D1 output.

Please refer the attached waveforms.

it seems, not output from amplifier at the timing recovery from shutdown.

They tried to repeat Shutdown pin High and low.  it has NG case and OK case. It seems depend on INP pin status at startup.

(NG case)

(OK case)

Q1, Could you please give me your advice for this issue?

Q2, Could you please let me know the delay time between Shutdown pin High and the amplifier normal output?

Q3, Could you please let me know the difference of internal behavior between NG case and OK case?

Thanks

Muk

  • Hi, Mukuno-san,

Could you provide additional details on this, please?

Could you share the TPA2000D1 schematic portion for more details? Do you notice another difference between the NG device and OK device? I mean, is there any difference in the power supply level, inputs, shutdown rise time, etc.?

What percentage of failures do you have?

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi Fernando-san,

    Thank you for your supporting.

I sent directly e-mail you for attached schematics.

     >>Do you notice another difference between the NG device and OK device? I mean, is there any difference in the power supply level, inputs, shutdown rise time, etc.?

    >>What percentage of failures do you have?

They don't find any difference other than INP rising timing.

Both NG case and OK case was tested by same board. customer believe the difference is only INP rising timing. If it have some delay between Shutdown Pin to INP raising time, it became NG behavior(100% Reproducible).

They are doing the repeat test of shutdown pin ON/OFF, it might be depend on INP discharge.

    Thanks

    Muk

  • Hi, Mukuno-san,

    Thank you for your information.

Have you tested a different input capacitor value in the design? Is it possible to use a 1uF capacitor and compare the results? If the problem persists, could you increase the capacitor value?

I have no details about the INP/INN input delay, what is the valid delay that you have measured in the application?

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi Fernando-san,

    I have an question.

    > what is the valid delay that you have measured in the application?

What is meaning " the valid delay" in your question?

Is it the delay between SHUTDOWN high to INP rising? This issue is NG when it has some delay between shutdown to INP rising.

Do you want to know about maximum delay for OK case?

    Thanks

    Muk

  • Hi, Mukuno-san,

    Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I meant what is the minimum delay between SHUTDOWN and INP rising for an OK case?

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Luis-san

Customer is trying to measure it.

However, first, could you please answer for the following questions?

Q2, Could you please let me know the delay time between Shutdown pin High and the amplifier normal output?

Q3, Could you please let me know the difference of internal behavior between NG case and OK case?

    Thanks

    Muk

  • Mukuno-san,

I'm closing this e2e thread since we continued the support via email.

    Best regards,
