DIX9211 and AC3/DTS passthrough

Hi there,

the datasheet for the DIX9211 states that it can auto-detect non-PCM input streams. Can it also output/passthrough said stream to the output? I'm looking for a device that can mux multiple SPDIF inputs but passthrough non-PCM data so that it can be decoded further down the chain.

Hi, Shareef,

It should, but you need to verify the signals you expect to receive. You can easily do this via the EVM - http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/pcm9211evm-u.html

This EVM is for the PCM9211, but the same circuits are used in this IC as for the DIX9211, but the PCM adds an additional A/D input.
