TAS5805M: Value of bootstrap capacitor

Hi,

I'm designing with the TAS5805M. What is the range of values allowed for the bootstrap cap?. Datasheet specs 0.22uF. How about 0.47uF or 1uF?. What is the minimum voltage?. 2 x PVDD?.

Hello Stephen,

I would stick to the datasheet guideline for the bootstrap capacitor.

CAP, CERM, 0.22 µF, 50 V, +/- 10%, X7R, 0603

Thanks Carolina,

However I would still like understand the range of values that would work. I'm hoping to use the same value for the bootstrap and the filtering cap which would save money in my design.

Hello Stephen,

We do not recommend any other value other than the one specified in the datasheet as those were tested and validated.

If you decide to use a value other than which is specified in the datasheet, you might not get the datasheet performance.
