TAS2560: Use as Haptic Driver

Happy Thursday,,

I have found come across a blog post, listed below, stating that the TAS2560 can be used for newer LRA haptic actuators, and i'm thinking possibly a Voice Coil Actuator.

Where can i get more information on what capabilities, or benefits, of using the TAS2560 as a driver for haptics actuator in our up coming prototype?

Furthermore, it's stated in the blog that the waveforms are generated by the DSP in the TAS2557, but as i understand it the TAS2560 does not have a DSP, will this still work, or can we use the DSP in our ARM CORTEX-M7 MCU?

Hi, Tivinc,

Unfortunately, we are not supporting haptics with the TAS25xx devices for now. We are recommending to use our DRV26xx porfolio instead since we can provide a complete support.

Some of our solutions such the DRV2605 support audio-to-vibe, which converts an audio input signal into haptics effects.

In addition to my last post, I just received some information about the DRV2634. This is a LRA/ERM driver with integrated boost.

Hello Luis,

I am unfamiliar with the DRV2634, i assume it's new or in development. I am familiar with the other DRV chips and they don't meet our needs.

Please do send me the information/details on the DRV2634.

Furthermore, i suspect the DRV2634 is specific to LRA, if so, can you recommend a driver for a Voice Coil Actuator as a haptic driver?
