TAS5754M: Dynamic Range Control

Hi Team,

We are working with TAS5754M, two channels will use HybridFlow 1, for four BTL stereo outputs, and two will use HybridFlow 4, for two PBTL mono outputs. We would like to use the 3-band DRC modules. . I know we can statically configure the 3-band DRC modules using the PurePath Studio tool, but we would like to be able to dynamically adjust the parameters. Is there any documentation available that describes how to do this? We have seen SLOA148 (TAS57xx Dynamic Range Control) but would like to control the 3-band DRC modules in TAS5754M. SLAU577A shows the hybridFlow options available but doesnt get into the details of what registers in what pages implement the controls and what formulae are used to compute the coefficients. Are there any documents available with this information for TAS5754M?

Hey Garret,

You have the option of seeing the I2C log from PPC2 to see what registers are manipulated in the GUI.

This can be done by selecting:

1. Logging (Check Mark) bottom right of screen

2. Hitting "View Log" Button on bottom right of screen

3. The green arrow at the top right of the screen, this should change to a red stop button.

In the control console log viewer, hit clear button at the bottom of that screen, change desired parameter, hit refresh.

This will allow you to see all the registers in configuration for the DRC.

Hey Garret,

Allow me some time to talk to our designers and see if what formulas they used in the generation of the PPC2 GUI.

In the mean time, I did find this AGL calculator for TAS5717, I am not sure if it is applicable for the TAS5754M. Please let me know if it helps you.
