TAS5825P: DC/DC recoomendation for PVDD

Part Number: TAS5825P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

Hi Team,

My customer consider to use TAS5825P for a battery powered wireless speaker, but they have some question regarding the power supply. Could you help me to answer the question below?

Q1. The datasheet said the PVDD should be similar as possible to the EVM design and the EVM uses LM5155 as a DC/DC converter for PVDD. Is it possible to use another DC/DC including competitor device?

Q2. I saw the related question on E2E but I couldn't find the detailed documentation about the signal from HPFB. Is it available now?

Best Regards,
Kazuto Tatsumi
  • Hi Kazuto ,

About Q1, It’s OK for using other BOOST or DC-DC converter, you can input related BOOST parameters into TAS5825P PPC3 and get the feedback res values. You need to input Min/Max output voltage/ DC-DC FB reference voltage /R2 feedback res value, and Software will give other results. But we would suggest customer use our DC-DC products for  better performance and easier debug.

About Q2, HPFB is one PWM format signal, which modulates audio signal level information to control real time DC/DC output.

In addition, we suggest you to send us one email to closely track this new opportunity.

    Best Regard

  • Thanks Leon! I'll send an e-mail when I got some feedback from the customer.
