PCM1681: PCM1681 SCK LRCK/BCK timing requirement

Hello expert,

My customer has question for PCM1681's clock timing requirement for SCK and LRCK/BCK.
Their system has possibility to input the SCK for PCM1681 which is not synchronized with LRCK/BCK regarding phase.
So I'd like to know about whether PCM1681 could accept asynchronized SCK to LRCK/BCK. Also could you provide timing requirement for SCK and LRCK/BCK?

Hi Kuramochi-san,

The SCK does not need to be in phase with the LRCK, but it does require the SCK to be a base-2 multiple of the LRCK clock. For example, SCK could be 128×LRCK, but it could not be 129×LRCK without clock errors. It is critical that the LRCK clock is derived from the SCK.

This is just confirmation but I'd like to ask you.

In the conclusion, There isn't any phase requirement between SCK and LRCK/BCK(PCM1681 will work correctly even if SCK are dephased by 180deg to LRCK/BCK ) but there is frequency requirement which need to follow datasheet's requirement.

Is it correct?
