Hi,

Could you please give me your recommendation for the audio codec devices?

Requirements

- Host interface : I2S and HDA(High Definition Audio)

- Similar spec like as TLV320AIC3104

Also, Could you please give me the driver software(Linux or Windows10Iot) for those devices?

Hello Mukuno-san,

I'm not sure we have a device with a "HDA" type PCM type interface. Most of our AIC CODEC devices support I2S, LJ,RJ, and TDM data formats but we'll need to review the HDA protocol to see if it's compatible.

Could you share a part # for the host processor that is producing the HDA interface signals so we can review them?

Hi Wells-san,

Customer plan to use the SMARC standard Intel CPU board as below,

I want to control the Audio Codec using the I2S line allocated to the SMARC card edge connector.

Hello Muk,

I reviewed the board user's guide and the processor supports two standard I2S interfaces which will work just fine with the TLV320AIC3104. The HDA interface is not compatible but they just need to make sure the set those pins and peripherals up for I2S.

Hello Muk,

We do not have dedicated Win 10 IoT drivers for these devices available, but you may find some on some open-source communities. There are Linux drivers available in the community who's .H and .C files should provide a decent starting point for your customer's end-system integration.
