TAS5411-Q1: state of /FAULT-pin in standby mode

Hello Experts,

I have question about /FAULT-pin behavior. What is state of /FAULT-pin in standby mode? Hi-Z or undefined? If it is undefined, would you tell reason?

Fujiwara-san,

The /FAULT pin will be be off in standby mode. Therefore, the pull up resistor will pull it to the 3.3Vdc supply, if it is active. In Hi-Z mode the pin will track any faults that may be determined by the device. Overcurrent and DC Offset Detect will not be detected in Hi-Z mode since the output FETs are inactive.

Hi Gregg-san,

You mean that TAS5411-Q1 monitor the fault condition in standby mode and if fault condition is detected by TAS5411-Q1, /FAULT-pin will asserted?

Fujiwara-san,

I think you misunderstood.

Standby mode the device is off, the faults are not monitored and will never assert the fault pin.

Hi-Z mode, the device is active, but the output stage is not switching. the device will monitor faults.
