TAS6424-Q1: SAP control register 0x03[7:6] configuration

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1

Hello,

My customer understands SAP control register as follows, but would you please give me your comments for the questions?

Questions

1. They understand SAP control register 0x03[7:6] configures the division ratio from MCLK, but they also do the ratio at 44.1kHz or 48kHz would be the same.  Therefore if Fs=48kHz, TAS6424-Q1 will work well even if 0x03[7:6]=0x00(44.1kHz configuration).  Is their understanding correct?

2. Would TAS6424-Q1 have any issues if 0x03[7:6]=0x00, but the actual Fs=48kHz?  They know the correct configuration when Fs=48kHz is 0x03[7:6]=0x01.

It is not the division ratio from MCLK, it is the frequency of FSYNC, which should matches with the audio FSYNC frequency.

The reason of 0x00 works for 44.1KHz and 48KHz is: there is some tolerance of this FSYNC frequency detection, if we set it as 44.1KHz, then use 48KHz will not trigger the fault detection.

    2. Would TAS6424-Q1 have any issues if 0x03[7:6]=0x00, but the actual Fs=48kHz?  They know the correct configuration when Fs=48kHz is 0x03[7:6]=0x01.

Suggest to set it to the correct setting which matches with input audio FSYNC frequency.
