PCM1690: Difficulty with the Linux driver

Part Number: PCM1690
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352, PCM1681

Hello!

I have a customer that is having a difficult time getting a working PCM1690 driver in Linux to work with our AM3352 based board.

They found a driver here:

https://github.com/litinghello/PCM1690/blob/master/pcm1690.c

which appears to based off of the pcm1681 driver already in the kernel, but they can't seem to make either of them work. The drivers initialize ok, but can't play through them. Does TI have any linux kernel ASoC expertise to lend here? IF so what additional information would you need?

Thanks!

  • Hi Lindsey,

Unfortunately, we do not have any Linux experts and TI does not support Linux drivers anymore for audio (that I know of).

They can try to confirm that the DAC is correctly powered with a valid I2S signal applied for the configured format.  I recommend that they verify that their schematic is valid as well.

    Thanks,

    Paul
