Hello,

There is a Mini DSP in TLV320ADC3101, I have few questions about this, please help comments on this, thanks a lot.

1. What's the typical application of this mini DSP?

2. How to estimate this DSP ability to process the algorithm?

3. Will this DSP support wake up function algorithm of smart speakers?

Hello,

Have you downloaded and accessed the PurePathStudio graphical development environment (GDE)? I think you'll get a better understanding of the mini-DSP processing components and capabilities by using the software.

1.) Implementing audio processing blocks such as AGC, DRC, equalization, mixing, muxing, etc.

2.) The GDE will help you understand what can and can't fit in the mini-DSP

3.) I believe some simple VAD algorithms are available, but we'd have to check.

Hi,

We don't have the VAD component available for ADC3101. However, the miniDSP has the resources to support a threshold based voice activity detection.

A custom flow can be built in PPS using basic components for the same. We'll be glad to help with any resources that you might need for this.

Hello,

I am very sorry for the delay in responding.

The miniDSP core which is tightly coupled to the ADC. The ADC miniDSP has 512 programmable instructions, 256 data memory locations, and 128 programmable coefficients. Please refer to figure 28 of the datasheet (https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/tlv320adc3101). ADC Clock drives the ADC miniDSP and the maximum supported rate is 33 MHz (as highlighted in yellow).
