ADC3140EVM-PDK: is there a way to use just the board with the TLV320ADC3140?

Part Number: ADC3140EVM-PDK

I've got this ADC3140EVM-PDK. I was hoping to have access to just the ADC, by sending i2c commands. But when I tried to power up just the ADC board, I noticed there's no power to iovdd, it looks like there's an eeprom related to 3.3 vs 1.8 jumper on the other board of all places. I even tried to just send commands over the i2c bus with both boards connected, but it just locked up.

Does anyone know of a setup that will allow to use this board by sending commands directly to the ADC? I'm working with another prototype board, and I'm getting a lot of strange behavior, and it would sure be nice to rule out hardware problems related to this prototype.

  • Hello Miles,

Could you take and post an image of the EVM setup with the ADC3140EVM-PDK and the AC-MB motherboard?  We've shipped several hundred of these EVMs and this is the first case where a user has had challenges with basic I2C communication.

It is possible to use the ADC3140EVM daughter card standalone, provided you make the appropriate connections to the test points that are available on the EVM.
