PCM1863: PCM1863

Part Number: PCM1863
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1864,

Hi Team,

My cusotmer wants to use pin21 as the mic input, because the datasheet indicates that this pin can be a digital microphone input. However, they did not see the relevant reference design. Could you please share some materials? Thanks!

  • Hello,

Take a look at Section 9.3.8.2 about digital mics.  Figure 31 explains that for 4 digital microphones on the PCM1864/5 you'll use GPIO2 (pin 20) as the CLK output and GPIO0 (pin22) and GPIO1 (pin 21) for the two data lines which will each have L/R data.  For the PCM1863 GPIO0 (pin22) is not available for the 2nd DMIC input and only one DMIC on GPIO1 (pin 21) is supported.
