PCM1798: Reference circuit for PCM1798

Part Number: PCM1798
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: NE5534, , PCM1789, PCM5102A, PCM1793, OPA1622

Hi Team,

The customer has downloaded the application circuit on page 19 of the datasheeet from the official website, but some devices have no parameters.

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hi Annie,

    Please reference this circuit:

  • Hi Paul,

Customer has following questions need your help.

Does NE5534 have to use positive and negative voltage? please kindly help to confirm.

The entire system is 5V input, I2S output audio to PCM1798 processing, output analog left and right channels to 3.5mm headphone jack (maximum amplitude is about 2V).

If he uses ± 15V to power NE5534, he needs to add an additional power conversion chip.

  • Hi Annie,

It is possible to adjust the gain of the circuit so that it uses ±5V, but as the first stage is a trans-impedance amplifier, a negative supply is required.  If they do not want a negative supply, then maybe they could consider a voltage output device, such as the PCM5102A, PCM1793, or PCM1789 with a headphone amplifier on the output, such as the OPA1622.

    Thanks,

    Paul
