PCM1863: PCM1863 for ADC now. I need the maximum difference input at 4.2v, but the SNR is higher than 110dB.

1. I use PCM1863 for ADC now. I need the maximum difference input at 4.2v, but the SNR is higher than 110dB.

2. TAS5782 for amplifier IC, I found that the S/N of TAS5782 itself is only 100dB, is there any recommended chip whose S/N is greater than 110dB?

  • Hello,

Can you confirm if this is 4.2Vrms or peak-to-peak?

If it's RMS then the customer could add a slight attenuator in front of the TLV320ADC6140 which has 112dB performance without DRE and 123dB with DRE.  There are also channel summing options that increase the performance to 119dB if all four channels are summed together.

Another device they may find interesting is the PCM6240, the performance isn't >110dB, but the input signal swing is larger than the other devices in the family.

Do you mind starting a new thread specifically about the TAS5782?  Otherwise I can loop in that team once you and I are done talking about the ADC related discussion points.  The amplifier folks are in a different team.  Note that S/N is one of the search parameters in the TI.com search for those components and may yield some good options.
