Hi,
For my application I need the left channel fully differential output and the right channel single ended output. Both using the high power driver and AC coupled.. Is it possible to accomplish with this device?
In register 14, bit D6 select differential mode for both output stereo, bit D7 select AC-coupled mode for both output stereo. It is all or nothing
In register 37 and 38, we can select also differential mode by choosing what to do with HPxCOM output. Here, the left and right side are independent.
It seems to me, there are overlapping settings between registers.
What if I configure the device as follow: Reg 14=0xC0, Reg 37= 0xC0, Reg 38=0x0C ? Am I going to have the correct level, since on the right side, I use only HPROUT pin.
Can you explain what the following bit are really doing in the device: register 14 bit 7,6, 3
Thanks
Hello Gilbert,
Apologies for the delay in response.
Register 14 is used for the headset detect feature. HPOUT configuration is done in registers 37 and 38.

Aaron
I am glad to learn that info. I really like this codec, It is hard to master the register configurations but the device is so flexible & powerful that it is well worth the effort.
Thanks and your answer was very quick !
Hi Gilbert,
Thanks you for choosing our device! Admittedly, configuring the device is the more difficult thing but trust me, it gets better with time. :-)
